Advocacy

Make Your Opinion Heard

Area Agencies on Aging are mandated under the federal Older Americans Act to serve as visible advocates on behalf of seniors. Senior Resources works to represent the interests of older persons by educating public officials, consumer advocates and the community about older adult needs. As your Area Agency on Aging, we monitor proposed legislation and policies at the federal, state and local levels, with an emphasis on health, housing, transportation, income supports, consumer protection and long term care.

Interested individuals can learn more about the latest advocacy issues affecting older adults by becoming a member of the Senior Advocates Coalition (SAC).

The next regular SAC meeting is February 10,  2020.

The Aging and Adult Services Agency will be joining us to seek feedback on the needs of older adults as they prepare their state plan for the next few years.
