Federal or State Grants
We manage service grants to help meet the needs of older adults and persons living with a disability as directed by the Area and State Plan. These multi-year grants are awarded on a three year basis to regional agencies, organizations, and businesses that serve Muskegon, Oceana, and Ottawa counties.

Muskegon County Senior Millage (MCSM) Grants
Senior Resources is contracted by Muskegon County to administer the MCSM grant process.

Senior Resources Provider Partners
Community partners are a key component that assists Senior Resources to effectively serve the older adults and persons living with disabilities in Muskegon, Oceana, and Ottawa counties.
Purchase of Service Partners Network
Senior Resources contracts with local businesses to provide various funded services to serve participants in the MI Choice Waiver and Care Management programs. Partners must meet a defined quality standard established for each service area and include a person-centered model of service delivery. Currently, we have Purchase of Service (PoS) Agreements with over 100 businesses. The services purchased most often include:
- Chore Services
- Durable Medical Equipment Providers
- Transportation
- Adult Day Care Services
- Home Delivered Meals
- Personal Emergency Response Providers

Provider Training Opportunities
Person Centered Planning Training is offered by the Bureau of Aging, Community Living, and Supports (ACLS Bureau). To obtain this training, visit osapartner.net and click on the “eLearning Center” tab. You will need to register for a free account and once logged in, you will see the Person Centered Planning and a Person Center Counseling training that can be completed.
SAGECare is a division of SAGE (sageusa.org) that offers training on topics geared towards improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older adults. There are 2 different levels of SAGECare credentials you can earn, but the Bronze level is the easiest to obtain, and it’s FREE! All you have to do is have 50% of your employees participate in a 1-hour on-demand training webinar through their LMS platform. Evidence-Based Health Promotion Programs and Caregiver Classes
Senior Resources periodically seeks bids for the purchase of Tier III Evidence-Based health programs and caregiver education sessions for persons 60 and over residing in our service region. These programs can include but are not limited to: Matter of Balance, Arthritis Foundation Exercise, Enhanced Fitness, and Caregiver trainings. Programs are to be held during Senior Resources’ fiscal year (October-September).
