Help develop a personalized activity based plan for clients. This plan will use light housekeeping, games, letter writing, gardening, reading, cooking, etc. to help improve the quality of life and inspire older adults in their home.
Work with Companion Care Manager and family to continuously improve and modify activity plan as needed.
Complete weekly report on how client is responding to the service.
Motivate clients to be an active participant in all activities.
Ability to develop and encourage active thinking, supportive conversation and encourage social activities.
Assist clients in scheduling appointments and transportation when needed.
* If you are comfortable, transporting the client to doctor’s appts., grocery store, small outings to help them maintain their independence.
Passion for working with older adult populations.
Must enjoy games, crafts, and activities.
Strong motivation skills to engage seniors to be active participants.
Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license and have reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance.
Annual testing for tuberculosis.
Must pass Criminal Background Check.
Must pass the Systems for Award Management check.
Transportating (if applicable):
Your car must pass a Vehicle Inspection check on cars 5+ yrs. old at Senior Resources expense.
Must pass a Driver’s Records Check.
Must provide proof of valid vehicle registration yearly & auto insurance upon each renewal.
Education or Experience: Experience working with older adults helpful but not necessary.
